Bikram’s Yoga is a challenging series of 26 classic yoga postures and 2 breathing exercises designed to work you whole body. It was scientifically created by Bishnu Ghosh and Bikram to be a therapeutic series designed for all ages and levels of ability. Bikram yoga especially promotes a healthy, strong and balanced nervous system, and spinal column. When your nervous system is functioning optimally all the systems of your body, nervous, muscular, skeletal, digestive, circulatory, lymphatic, and endocrine, work at their best. Bikram says “if you have a healthy spine you have a healthy mind and happy life.”
We practice Bikram Yoga in a room heated between 98 and 105 degrees, to increase circulation and warm your muscles. The heat allows for a much deeper workout, which amplifies the natural healing process of the body in many ways. It improves flexibility, allowing you to really stretch. It increases circulation, creating amazing cardiovascular benefits. It increases strength and flexibility, which helps speed recovery and prevent injury. It clears your mind, and frees you of tension, stress, and worries. The deep sweating also purifies and cleanses the entire body by flushing toxins at the cellular level. The postures are scientifically designed stimulate the organs, glands and nerves to a state of self-regeneration by moving fresh oxygenated blood to 100% of the body, restoring all systems to healthy working order. The studio owners, Bel and Emily Carpenter, have been practicing and teaching Bikram’s Yoga since 1996. They have instructed thousands of yoga teachers and students from all over the world.
