Welcome! Whether you have never practiced yoga before or have simply been away for a while we hope you find all of the information you need here to begin your journey into the transformative practice of Bikram Yoga. We guarantee that a regular Bikram Yoga practice will change your life in the most wonderful ways. Expect to sweat, work hard and feel great! Yoga is NOT just for the fantastically flexible. In fact, if you are not flexible, if you cannot touch your toes, or perhaps cannot even see your toes, you are a perfect candidate for the benefits of yoga. With a consistent practice and some patience you will improve. Remember to focus on and take care of yourself in class. Our teaching staff is experienced and they will help you through the class.
Bring a positive attitude! If you feel nervous, scared or a little intimidated, no problem; many people may feel that way initially. Don’t let it stop you from coming to class. Bikram designed this class for beginners, so know that with a little practice and experience, you’ll quickly feel right at home. Bikram always says to “try the right way” to achieve 100 percent benefit from every posture. And by taking your second class within 24 hours of your first class you will bypass much of the soreness you would otherwise experience. Drink plenty of water throughout the day so that you’re well hydrated before coming to class. Proper hydration supports the healthy function of all of your body’s systems, and it makes the heat feel more comfortable.
FIRST CLASS :
Simply choose the class time that you want to attend and plan to arrive 15 minutes early. We will have you fill out a short waiver and get you set-up to take your first class. Please be sure to let the teacher know about any injuries or special physical circumstances.
WHAT TO WEAR : Wear something you will be comfortable stretching and sweating in. Wear light, fitted exercise clothing such as sport bra/tank top, shorts or swimwear. Avoid sweats, long pants, heavy t-shirts. Bring a change of clothes for after class.
MATS & TOWELS : We rent yoga mats, Breathe Towels, and towels at our studios. We recommend everyone use a Breath Yoga Towel to practice at our studios. Breathe Towels are like a yoga mat and towel in one.
WATER : We sell bottles of water at the studio and provide filtered water for your convenience.
FOOD : Do not eat anything heavy for 2-3 hours prior to taking class.
ARRIVE ON TIME : Classes start promptly so be sure to arrive on time for class.
